Complex vintage, considered among the most difficult in recent years for vineyard management, but able to offer surprising results thanks to a positive end to the season.
The winter was mild, and spring came on gradually but early, with an advance in the vegetative cycle. However, already in the early stages, a strong heterogeneity in plant development was evident, due to the pronounced microclimatic differences between the different valleys.
The summer was characterized by a lot of rainfall, not so much in the number of rainy days as in the intensity of the events: there were concentrated and violent "water bombs" such as those of July 23 and 29, which affected very localized areas.
Moisture favored the development of fungal diseases and rot, making careful grape selection and thinning essential.
The dry and windy month of September allowed good final ripening of the grapes, rewarding the best exposed areas and the most attentive producers. Yields, lower than average, resulted in wines of good freshness, less concentrated but with elegance and finesse.
