Vineyards

The varieties grown are Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and Barbera, as well as a small vineyard of Chardonnay that gives rise to a microproduction of pure Chardonnay.

From the cru of Bricco Delle Viole, San Pietro and La Volta grapes continue to be selected for the production of Reserves, produced exclusively in vintages considered exceptional for the Viberti Giovanni winery. The historic Buon Padre cuvée is now the result of the union of grapes from different cru. In addition to the 3 historically owned cru: San Pietro, Bricco Delle Viole & la Volta are added San Ponzio, the Fossati, Albarella, Perno and Monvigliero.

The philosophy in the vineyard is once again clear. We are convinced that 70 percent of a wine's quality is the result of the work in the vineyard, so our efforts are primarily aimed at reducing yields per unit area through strict selection of the best bunches of grapes in their ripening stage. An entirely manual selection. By reducing the quantities and increasing the concentrations of our grapes, and later musts, we raise quality standards considerably.

We believe deeply in the link between native grape varieties and their territory of origin. Our vineyards are located in highly suitable production areas, where we grow Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Timorasso. The only international variety present is Chardonnay, introduced in 1988, which has found a unique and surprising balance in our hills.
