
The name derives directly from the unmistakable chapel of San Pietro, not far from La Volta castle and a landmark on the hill overlooking the village of Barolo. Its vineyards are south-facing and grow on soils characterized by a mixed limestone-clay composition. In relation to the other cru it is one of the smallest, in terms of its size, in the commune of Barolo. An amphitheater wedged between the slope facing the village of Barolo and that facing La Morra. A soil that tends to be cooler and gives unmistakable, austere wines with a spicy and complex panorama of aromas. Wines with great aging potential. As in the case of the vineyards of La Volta and Bricco delle Viole, in particularly exceptional vintages, part of the grapes are used for Barolo riserva San Pietro
